Sue is responsible for all financial functions at Solana Center.
The dynamic, fast-paced industry of title/escrow is where Sue spent 25 years crunching numbers. While in Los Angeles at Old Republic Title, she managed the Accounting Department and later became the Regional Accounting Manager of Southern California. Attending Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State LA she received a BS degree in Accounting. After 5 years in Orange County, a move to San Diego came in 1997. While in San Diego she worked as Accountant for Markstein Beverage Co.
Embracing the beach community and raising 2 daughters with her husband sparked a passion for volunteering where Sue picked fruit for community shelters, planted trees and removed invasive plants. Camping, hiking, and exploring during the family’s many road trips always centered on the natural environment. Replacing her backyard lawn with native species piqued her interest in soil health. After completing the Solana Center Master Composter class series, Sue took up composting, vermi-composting and Bokashi. Sue loves being able to use her accounting craft in such an inspiring environment as the Solana Center.
