Composting is easy and inexpensive. Improper disposal of manure is unsightly, breeds flies, may create health hazards, and can contaminate local streams and water sources. Using composted manure on your garden and landscaping will help your plants thrive and conserves water, too! This workshop will cover the basics of traditional composting as well as the particulars associated with composting horse manure on-site.
Meet our guest speaker:
The manure management portion of the class will be taught by Lisa Wood, a noted speaker and award-winning author with 25+ years experience as an environmental professional and 50+ years experience in horse ranch & stable operations. She has experience with manure composting on her Lakeside ranch and through her work with the Miramar Greenery.
