Manure Management and Composting Workshop at Oasis Camel Dairy

Make a difference and help our community learn how to protect our local watershed and produce a fantastic soil product from large animal manure.

A group of people gathered outdoors at Solana Center's garden

We have many communities of ranchers around San Diego County. Since many of these communities are up stream, what they do on their land greatly impacts the whole County. Help show ranchers how to properly deal with their manure using composting techniques to conserve water, promote garden health, and protect local watersheds!

This workshop will cover the basics of traditional composting as well as the particulars associated with composting horse manure on-site. Plus, you'll give back to the community and planet at a fun venue! Come check out Oasis Camel Dairy, camel viewing included.

In this workshop, you will assist with:

  • Setting up our presentation area (tables, chairs, info material, etc)
  • Event sign-ups and registration
  • Advancing PowerPoint slides or handling our flip chart
  • Sharing props and visuals
  • Packing up our presentation supplies
