Food Cycle Program - Site Restructuring!

Get involved in our expanding food waste diversion program!

Solana Center Garden

Our Food Cycle Program allows community memebers who can't compost at home to still divert their food waste. We have a tripple bin aerated static pile sytsem that is on a precise timeline to get food scraps in and cooking and finished compost back out into the community as fast as possible. Our team of volunteers is insturmental in this process!

Becuase the program is still expanding at an amazing rate, this month we will be adjusting the area to accomadate a greater capacity. We'll be clearing space and prepping the area for easier drops, pick ups, and composting!

The Food Cycle Program is a co-op where San Diego County residents and small businesses preserve their organic waste using the Bokashi method and then deliver it to Solana Center to be turned into a nutritious soil amendment and distributed back into the community. If you are interested in becoming a member, find out more here!

PLEASE NOTE: This event starts earlier than normal to avoid summer heat
