Join Solana Center at this webinar for an introduction to bokashi, a fermentation method that will enable you to compost all your food waste, including meat, dairy, and liquids. This "pre-composting" process uses an inoculant of effective microbes to preserve kitchen scraps until you're ready to incorporate them into your soil or compost bin. Learn how bokashi can be used to increase your organic waste diversion and enrich your soil microbiome.
Please note: This webinar will not cover backyard composting or vermicomposting, which are often used in tandem with bokashi. For more information on these composting styles, please join one of our other upcoming webinars on these topics, or check out the Compost It Yourself Guide.
We will conduct this webinar using Zoom, so please note that you will need to have the Zoom application installed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) to attend and participate. You will receive an email with the link and password to join upon registration.
This webinar is funded by the County of San Diego and is intended for residents of unincorporated County. Anyone may attend, however, the webinar recording will be available for 2 weeks after the live presentation to unincorporated County residents only.
