With your help Solana Center will be providing compost education to thousands of visitors all Fair long. Volunteers are the life force of our booth, Eco Container, and fun Farm activities.
This is an amazing opportunity to make a big impact while enjoying the vivacity of one of the nations largest county fairs. We engage with over 10,000 people, give hundreds of kids their first experiences with the magic of our living Earth, and provide tools, resources, and inspiration to budding new Eco stewards all over the county.
- Set up Solana Center's booth and Eco Container materials (morning shift)
- Share information about Solana Center, composting, gardening, and recycling with visitors
- Help children plant seeds to take home!
- Assist guests with the Eco Adventure (an interactive Farm-wide program)
- Put away booth materials (afternoon shift)
Important information to note:
FAIR ENTRY: Each volunteer will receive a free ticket to the San Diego County Fair to enter on the day of their shift and enjoy the fair before and after.
PARKING: The San Diego County Fair is now charging for parking on weekdays. To avoid these fees come by Solana Center before your shift and pick up a free parking pass!
SIGN UP DEADLINE: You must sign up for all shifts a minimum of 2 days prior. Sign ups after this time risk not receiving proper information for fair entry and scheduling.
MULTI-SHIFT BONUS: Sign up for your next shift before you do your first and you'll receive a bonus ticket to come back next time with a plus one or save it for a later Fair day! You will also receive your parking pass if you are signed up for a weekday so you will not have to make an additional trip to Solana Center or pay the fee.
Click "Volunteer Now" to select a shift and sign up. You will receive a volunteer manual with further information on commuting, parking, and running the booth in the week prior to your scheduled day. Have questions in the meantime? Contact email@example.com
