Backyard Composting Workshop at the San Diego Botanic Garden

Make a difference and help our community learn about improving the quality of our soil, reducing waste and air pollution and saving energy, money, and water through composting!

A group of people gathered outdoors at Solana Center's garden

Assist one of our Solana Center educators during a 2-hour presentation at the beautiful Water Conservation Garden. Volunteers with any level of experience are a big help. If you are new to the craft, this is a great way to learn the basics yourself, and if you are a wizened veteran, it's a perfect chance to pass on that knowledge and get a refresher course.

In this workshop, you will assist with:

  • Setting up our presentation area (tables, chairs, info material, etc)
  • Event sign-ups and registration
  • Advancing PowerPoint slides or handling our flip chart
  • Sharing props and visuals
  • Packing up our presentation supplies

Garden entry fees are waived for our wonderful volunteers. Feel free to tour this Encinitas gem!
