Like you, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 in the San Diego region. The safety of our staff, docents, volunteers, and the people we interact with continues to be of the utmost importance. Our goal is to do everything we can to help curb the spread of this outbreak in our community. We are following guidelines from state and local health officials, as well as common sense in an effort to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. Solana Center is making several changes in light of the ongoing guidelines.
All events, workshops and volunteer activities have been canceled or postponed until further notice. This is a precautionary and preventive measure to reduce potential transmission and spread of the COVID-19 virus. As soon as we are able to reschedule events, we will make sure to get those updates out. You can also check our events and volunteer pages for the most up to date information over the coming days.
As of March 17, Solana Center’s store will be closed until April 1. We will continue to follow state and local guidelines, and reassess this timeline as new information comes in.
Our Food Cycle participants can still exchange buckets but will be moving to a fully self-service model. All Food Cycle participants will receive an email with further instructions. If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will still be taking rain barrels orders through March 31. Due to the fluidity of the current situation, please contact email@example.com to coordinate pickup after ordering.
Our staff is of utmost importance to us, and, in addition to the changes outlined above, while at the office Solana Center is taking the following steps for their safety:
Disinfecting all surfaces and high touch areas (such as keyboards, light switches, and doorknobs)
Maintaining a supply of soap and hand sanitizer for easily and regularly use
As always, staying home when feeling sick
Washing our hands throughout the day
Canceling and limiting events and meetings that bring groups together
Staff is able to work from home
These are unprecedented times, and we are working to navigate the rapidly changing information as best we can. Solana Center will remain nimble in our approach, with ongoing guidance from state & local governments. We will continue to monitor developments with COVID-19 and regularly reassess the situation.
