ENCINITAS—Solana Center for Environmental Innovation (Solana Center), with the County of San Diego (County), is offering discounted rain barrels to encourage harvesting of rainwater. By using a rain barrel, San Diegans can reduce pollution from runoff, conserve water and save money on their water bill.
Don't miss this opportunity to pay $55 per rain barrel (after rebate) on up to 2 rain barrels per household. For extra savings, the County is offering a $30 discount for the first 200 rain barrels sold to residents in unincorporated San Diego County (limit 2 per household).
“Solana Center is pleased to present another great opportunity for San Diegans to save water and money by combining two substantial discounts – one from the County and one from the Water Authority – that make rain barrels really affordable for residents,” said Jessica Toth, Executive Director.
Rain barrels can help reduce runoff from dirtying our beaches and waterways, collecting many different types of pollutants before reaching the ocean, rivers, lakes and lagoons. Just 1” of rain yields 600 gallons per every 1000 sq. ft. of roof space. That's a lot of free, fresh water for San Diegans to capture and reuse on their properties. It’s easy! Here’s how the program works:
Deadline to pre-order is February 10, 2019 before 11 p.m. Pre-orders are required.
