Pollution Prevention Campaigns

Solana Center works as a community resource to connect people’s discards with the highest and best use. In response to needs of the area, we established a year-round program to collect electronics, used batteries, and light bulbs.

In addition, Solana Center outreached to all Encinitas food businesses using expanded polystyrene (EPS) as part of the successful EPS Engagement project. Our study provided objective figures and information to the City Council in order not only to vote for the ban of EPS, but also to provide the City Council with operational ways to implement this legislation and to assist businesses and the population through this change.
