Growing up in Huntington Beach opened Brooke's eyes to the challenges with plastic pollution as she had witnessed trash washed up on the shore. This is where her passion for environmental conservation and community outreach grew. Eager to help, she volunteered with organizations in her community, participating in harbor and beach cleanups. Living and learning about a more sustainable lifestyle had led her to a more hands-on approach by enrolling in permaculture design courses in San Clemente which drew her further down South. Eventually, she made her way to San Diego State where she currently studies Sustainability. San Diego is now Brooke's second home where she is grateful to be able to be interning with such a great organization and to have a part in helping people find a community in helping the environment like she once came across.
In addition to sustainability, Brooke is passionate about yoga, photography, mending, and upcycling clothing. She is an advocate for buying local produce, reusing wastewater, and regenerative agriculture.
