Mary Ann has a BA in Economics from the College of Wooster and an MBA from the University of Michigan. She first put these skills to work during her 10+ years at Hewlett Packard where she worked in Finance/Accounting and Production Management. Since the 1990s, she has volunteered more hours than she would like to count at a local nonprofit school where she worked on obtaining nonprofit status and use permits, tax returns, bookkeeping, budgeting and financial reporting, and served as Board Treasurer. She continues to serve on the school’s Finance Committee.
It was easy to convince her to serve a similar role for Solana Center due to her life-long interest in environmental causes and organic gardening. Her favorite activities include gardening (native plant, organic, and drought-tolerant), reading, knitting, backpacking, and spending time with her husband and two children.
