POSTPONED - Free Manure Management & Composting Workshop - Spring Valley

**The County of San Diego and Solana Center have postponed this workshop due to the evolving situation regarding COVID-19. We will re-open registration with the new date as soon as it is determined.**This workshop will show you how to both protect your local watershed and produce a fantastic soil product from horse manure.

Composting is easy and inexpensive. Improper disposal of manure is unsightly, breeds flies, may create health hazards, and can contaminate local streams and water sources. Using composted manure on your garden and landscaping will help your plants thrive and conserves water, too!

Our site provider, Iron Oak Canyon Ranch, serves the Rancho San Diego area in a variety of ways, from equestrian boarding and lessons to animal care academy courses and manure composting.

The workshop will cover the following:

  • Basic and livestock-specific composting
  • Benefits of composting
  • Protecting local water sources
  • Different composting systems

This composting workshop is funded by:
