Waste to Wealth Program at Bonsall Elementary: Day 2

Help our youngest Eco stewards learn how to care for the planet!

Assist one of our Solana Center educators in teaching the students about backyard composting. Get hands-on with the students and learn the basics of traditional composting methods. We will be working with two classes of fourth graders throughout the day, helping them engage with sustainability in their own lives. Get prepared for an exciting day with our youngest eco-stewards!
 

At this event you will assist with:

  • Setting up our program area (tables, chairs, props, etc)
  • Sharing props and visuals
  • Advancing presentation slides
  • Assisting with student engagement and classroom management
  • Resetting presentation for the next group
  • Helping students build a worm bin [tentative]
  • Packing up our presentation supplies

Volunteer Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable interacting with large groups of children
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Basic knowledge of composting preferred or ability to learn quickly
  • Basic understanding of AV (projector and microphone) preferred
