"How often should I turn my pile? What should I avoid putting in the compost? Why won't my compost get hot?"
Whether you're already composting at home or need a few more answers to get going, this 1-hour virtual Q&A session with Solana Center's experienced educators will demystify how to compost green waste and food scraps in your backyard. We'll cover some of the FAQs of composting and address any other questions you might have!
This webinar is a partnership between Solana Center and the Water Conservation Garden. During the webinar, we will take a virtual tour of the Water Conservation Garden's composting demonstration site, led by Master Composter and long-time Garden volunteer, Whitney Dueñez.
Note: This webinar will cover traditional backyard composting, which manages both yard trimmings and kitchen scraps. If you plan to compost only your kitchen waste, please join our Ask a Worm Wrangler webinar for the most relevant guidance.
The webinar will be held using Zoom, so please note that you will need to have the Zoom application installed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) to attend and participate. You will receive the link to join upon registering.
This webinar is funded by the County of San Diego and is intended for residents of unincorporated County. Anyone may attend, however, the webinar recording will be available for 7 days after the live presentation to unincorporated County residents only.
*** Please note that this webinar was previously scheduled for 6/22. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have rescheduled to this new date of 7/20. Thank you for your understanding! ***
