Join Solana Center for this 2-hour presentation, at the Water Conservation Garden, where you will learn the basics of traditional backyard composting. Using trial-tested advice and interactive demonstrations, our experienced educators will teach you all you need to know to get started with a bin that fits your needs and lifestyle.
This workshop will be held in-person and outdoors. We ask that all attendees follow current public health guidelines to protect themselves and others from the spread of Covid-19, including wearing a mask if you have not been vaccinated.
Priority registration is offered to residents of unincorporated County. All other registrants will be placed on a waitlist initially and accepted into the workshop pending available space. Please look for a notification 1 – 2 weeks before workshop date.
In this workshop, we will cover the following
- What is composting and why it is so important
- What tools and materials you’ll need
- Which items are compostable and which are not
- Building and maintaining a compost pile
- One lucky attendee will WIN a free raffle prize!
