Event Prep: Zero Waste Textile Expo

Event Description

Come get crafty with us as we get ready for our Zero Waste Textile Expo, coming up on March 23rd!   We will be preparing craft materials, signage and displays. . Activities may include any of the following: Cutting down fabric scraps and file folders for craft projects Creating samples of craft projects (optional…no artistic skills required!) Assisting in creating event signage on scrap fabric Sorting and labeling items for clothing swap Packing and labeling supplies in preparation for day of event set up

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

• Attire: Dress comfortably. We will be working mostly outdoors unless it is raining.

• Bring: Reusable water bottle, sun protection.

• Experience Needed: All levels of experience welcome! 

• Age Requirements: Must be aged 14 and up. All volunteers under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to fill out the registration form on their behalf.

• Other: Please be on the lookout for an information email 1-4 days before the event with any additional details. If you can no longer make the event and need to cancel, please let the volunteer coordinator know as soon as possible so we can give your spot to another volunteer. 

• Your volunteer hours are recorded in our database.  Upon request, we will include your travel time in those hours.  Simply send an email to volunteer@solanacenter.org to let our volunteer coordinator know what your drive time is.
