Event Volunteer: Zero Waste Textile Expo
Join us for our “Zero Waste Textile Expo”, an event to educate our community about the impact of clothing and textile waste, and the urgent need to move towards more sustainable models in fashion. This family-friendly event will feature information booths, sustainable vendors, a clothing swap, clothing repair experts, and crafting for kids and adults.
Volunteer shifts can include any of the following
· Setting up or taking down tables, chairs and canopies
· Helping to set up educational displays and craft stations
· Helping to staff the clothing swap area
· Directing visitors who have questions about parking or activities
· Keeping craft and sewing stations restocked with supplies
· Other general tasks as directed by volunteer coordinator
Volunteer Shifts
11:30 am to 2:30 pm
2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Attire: Dress comfortably for being on your feet.
Bring: Reusable water bottle.
Experience Needed: All levels of experience welcome!
Age Requirements: Must be aged 16 and up. All volunteers under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to fill out the registration form on their behalf.
Physical Requirements: Must be willing to do hands-on work The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is helpful, but not required.
Other: Please be on the lookout for an information email 1-4 days before the event with any additional details. If you can no longer make the event and need to cancel, please let the volunteer coordinator know as soon as possible so we can give your spot to another volunteer.
