Dive into the trash with Solana Center to collect valuable, hands-on experience with managing our waste stream. Sorting and analyzing waste is an important step for figuring out how to reduce it. Help us lighten the load on the planet by finding solutions for reducing, reusing, and recycling.
Volunteer Shifts:
11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Work will take place at Solana Center, performing an audit of waste picked up from The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center in La Jolla. This is a wonderful opportunity to see how our Environmental Solutions team carries out this important work.
At this event you will assist with:
- Sorting waste
- Weighing waste
- Tabulating waste
Volunteer Qualifications:
- Must be ok getting dirty (gloves and aprons provided!)
- Must be able to stoop repeatedly and lift up to 20 pounds
- Must be at least 18 years old
