HEALTHY SOILS PROGRAM

California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Healthy Soils Program (HSP) is moving forward and Solana Center is here to provide assistance to farmers and ranchers in Southern California interested in applying for incentives program funding.

Solana Center is working with the CDFA to provide technical assistance to HSP incentives program grant applicants, free of charge to you. If you are interested, email Sydney to schedule a time to work through the application process and meet the March 8, 2019 deadline.

HSP provides financial assistance to California farmers and ranchers who are willing to implement one or more of the HSP agricultural management practices to improve soil health. Applicants can receive up to $75,000 in funds for the three-year project if their application is approved. Unlike previous years, matching funds are not required.

Healthy Soils Program is funded by Proposition 68 Parks & Water Bond 2018 fund and California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.
